Hi, We're All Mac!

Ac•Rock video conference

From its very inception, Ac•Rock has been Mac-based. Music and the Macintosh just naturally go together, so every one of our CDs has been recorded, direct to disk, with ProTools on a Mac. Our album graphics have been generated on Macs, along with everything you see on the website. The behind-the-scenes stuff, too: sales, scheduling and accounting information all get generated on a Mac. Everything that you see and hear from
Ac•Rock is truly the product of a Mac.

Now we've gone a step further. Our appearance schedule requires lots and lots of driving for all the guys. Mark, Paul, Chris and Gary live so far apart from each other that every rehearsal eats up five or six man-hours behind the wheel. So, we've taken the next logical step and moved our business meetings into cyberspace. We've always communicated via e-mail, but now, thanks to iChat AV, we conduct virtual meetings right from the comfort of our own homes. So that big smile you see on our faces comes from spending less time fighting traffic and more time at home with our families!

The preceding was an unsolicited and uncompensated testimonial. And that's the best kind, isn't it?

Mark in front of The Cats Meow gameAc•Rock Is The Cat's Meow!

If you should find yourself in Las Vegas or in one of our fine state casinos, take a look at the new Cat’s Meow slot machine. Then, take a listen! You'll hear Ac•Rock singing the theme song: “C’mon down from your window, baby, tonight we’ll howl at the moon”. We were delighted to hear ourselves loud and clear as we sampled the action on a recent visit to Vegas ourselves. And where you play Cat’s Meow, look for the many variations of Monopoly slot machines (also featuring vocals by Ac•Rock).

Out Of The Box is Two CDs in One!

The Concentration GameIn Ac•Rock's aptly-named fourth CD, Out Of The Box, the guys serve up their first original song, Mark's retro rocker, Get Out The Way. The disc also includes our most requested tunes: hits like Happy Together, Who Put the Bomp?, Under The Boardwalk, Pretty Little Angel Eyes, So Fine, Duke of Earl, Book of Love, Get A Job and Goodnight, Sweetheart. A cartoonish jungle scene opens The Lion Sleeps Tonight. Chris rocks I Feel Good, only to have the backing vocals morph into a classical waltz. Rounding out the package are a funky version of Shining Star, a rockin' uptempo Absolutely Right, a laid-back version of Little Deuce Coupe and a surprising a cappella take on MMMBop, complete with vocal "scratching" and punchy vocal percussion. Fourteen all new tracks... and Enhanced Content, too

Yes, Out Of The Box includes great multimedia pieces: a Concentration game, The Ac•Rock Sound Machine, a QuickTime VR walkaround of the Ac•Rock sculpture, and interactive bios of all the guys. Quite a package!

Ac•Rock Loves Shure Microphones!

People always comment on the clean, transparent sound of our CDs. Here's our secret: Shure microphones. Our first two albums were produced using Shure Beta Green 5.0 mics exclusively, and recorded with no eq whatsoever, so what we sing is what you hear! For Guaranteed To Satisfy, we recorded exclusively with Shure's versatile KSM44's! We used a mix of Shure mikes for the top-selling Out Of The Box and our newest release, Flying Colors. Every single Ac•Rock CD has been an all-Shure production, recorded straight-to-disk in our in-house DigiDesign ProTools studio.

Ac•Rock insists on Shure for live performances as well. Years ago, we started with Shure SM58's and have since moved up to a Shure wireless package (which frees us from cords and lets us have a lot more fun with the audience). When all you've got is your voices, the mikes better be right - and Shure microphones are the best!
